This Land is Your Land

This Land is Your Land is necessary nostalgia, an ode to rice fields and rolling hills, and old Manila cityscape.

We start the year with recollection; a look back to look forward. There is sublime purity in the simplicity of the past when we had time to admire landscapes, when traditions thrived as beacon for values, when fields were untouched by commercialism.

The delicate Oskar Ramos portrait of a lady with a jar best represents the exhibition: pride of craft and sun-dappled romanticism. Fall deeper into a languid mood with the light-handed landscapes and portraits of revered Filipino realists like Cesar Buenaventura, Oscar Navarro, Loreto Racuya, and Martin Catolos, who founded the Tanay Artist Group. Works of Jose Hernandez, Ramon Peralta, and Jose Pereira are also on display.

So take your time. Step inside the paintings and enjoy the silence. We hope that you carry with you a little bit of that tranquility when you step right back into the city. And proudly say: This land is my land.
